The primary mission of the HCUCA is to promote the restoration of native habitat in rapidly growing Hamilton County.

Restoration of native habitat has many environmental benefits as detailed on the Native Plants page.  In addition, restoration projects can provide immediate and long-term expense savings compared to maintaining turf grass

PRAIRIE RESTORATION

A prairie restoration project primarily consists of planting native grasses and wildflowers. 

Cost share assistance is available for qualifying projects.

 

RIPARIAN BUFFER

A riparian buffer project consists of planting trees, shrubs, grasses, and wildflowers along streams, lakes, and ponds in order to provide a transition between waterways and human use.

Cost share assistance is available for qualifying projects.

 

WOODLAND RESTORATION

A woodland restoration project consists of planting trees in order to reforest an area, either large or small.

Cost share assistance is available for qualifying projects.

 

NEIGHBORHOOD TREE PLANTING PROGRAM

A neighborhood tree planting program results when an entire neighborhood or a group of individuals in a neighborhood plant trees in order to improve the environment or enhance the appearance of the Community.
