Woodland Restoration

A woodland restoration project consists of planting trees in order to reforest an area, either large or small.

 Benefits

Attract Wildlife: Native trees and shrubs provide nesting sites and cover for wildlife.  In addition, many native trees and shrubs provide nuts, seeds, and berries which attracts wildlife.

Environmental Benefits: Native trees and shrubs help improve air quality and soil quality.

Potentially Improve Property Values: According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry Community & Urban Forestry, the presence of trees in an area can improve property values 5% to 20%.

Create a Noise Buffer: The addition of trees in the area will help reduce the level of noise associated with nearby busy streets.
